Country: Canada
Province: British Columbia
City: Richmond
Location: Gulf of Georgia Cannery [map]

The Gulf of Georgia Cannery is a designated Canadian National Historic Site. It was built in 1894 and was once the largest producer of canned salmon in British Columbia and was the largest cannery in the province at one point. In one of the leading industries in British Columbia at the time, the Gulf of Georgia Cannery was one of the most significant outposts during its boom years. The cannery's operations lasted for nearly a century before closing in 1979 due to high costs. It re-opened as a historic site and fishing museum in 1994.
